We've had a Singer 45K cylinder arm sewing machine in the workshop for at least 5 years now. This is a powerful machine capable of sewing at least 9mm of leather together. Unfortunately cylinder arm machines are not really designed for the type of sewing we do, fantastic for hats, but awkward for flat panels like body armours and vambraces.

Occasionally a customer will ask us for a custom job based on stuff we've posted on Facebook. Occasionally we get asked to make a set of leather armour for someone outside the normal range. This is the latest one, a Claw plated body armour foe a customer with a 64" chest and waist. Luckily he ordered it at an event where we could put a tandard set onto him and work out what modifications were needed. It's going in a box tomorrow with matching greaves and vambraces.
