Today we've been building a ladies battlecoat in the smallest size we make, a UK 6-10. The origin of this design goes back to the very earliest armours we made. Back then the only metal armour available for Larp was very expensive reenactment stuff. This led to all sorts of attempts to produce better armour at affordable prices. Our local system had plated leather as an option so we looked around and found dog collar plate. Rivet a couple of hundred of those onto a leather jacket and voila AC5(from memory) As we went on it turned into the battlecoat,, then naturally we had to make a ladies version. So depending on the system you play this may be the best, most flexible way of getting reasonably heavy armour values without having to wear plate(which is much more affordable now)
